1. Overview
Farlands™ (“Farlands”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you access or use Farlands’ websites, apps, smart contracts, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with all applicable data protection laws and regulations, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the European Regulation 2016/679, known as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) (collectively, CCPA).
2. Who we are
The Platform is operated by Red Dog Studios (Farlands, we, us, our), based in Western Australia.
Email: team@farlands.world
Address: 22 Balmoral Rd, Karratha WA 6714
For the purposes of GDPR terminology, Farlands is generally the controller for personal data processed through the Platform unless stated otherwise in this policy.
3. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we process:
through the Platform;
through our communications with you (e.g., support emails); and
in connection with our community and marketing (where applicable).
Third-party platforms (e.g., wallet providers, blockchain explorers, Discord, X) have their own privacy practices, processes and policies.
4. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information (some of which may be “personal information” under applicable laws):
A. Web3 / blockchain-related information
Public wallet addresses
On-chain transaction hashes/references and related public metadata (e.g., token IDs, contract addresses)
Sign-in / authentication events (e.g., a wallet signature used to prove wallet control)
We do not collect private keys or seed phrases, and we will never ask you for them.
B. Technical and usage information
IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system
Log data (timestamps, pages/screens viewed, performance/crash data)
C. Information you provide voluntarily
Contact details and message content you submit (e.g., support requests, contact forms)
Any information you choose to provide in surveys, beta feedback, or community interactions
D. Cookies and similar analytical technologies
We may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, or similar tools to operate the Platform and understand usage (see section 12).
5. How we collect information
We collect information:
Directly from you (e.g., when you contact us).
Automatically (e.g., via logs and cookies when you use the Platform).
From the blockchain (which is public on-chain data).
From service providers (e.g., hosting, security, analytics, blockchain infrastructure).
6. How we use information
We use information to:
Provide and operate the Platform and its features
Authenticate wallet interactions and enable access to web3 functionalities
Improve performance, reliability, and user experience
Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and misuse
Communicate with you (support, updates, important notices)
Comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, and resolve disputes
7. Legal grounds (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal grounds, including:
Performance of a contract (to provide Platform features you request)
Legitimate interests (e.g., securing the Platform, preventing fraud, improving services)
Consent (where required, such as certain cookies/marketing)
Legal obligation (where we must comply with applicable laws)
8. Blockchain transparency and limits on control – Web3 Notice
Blockchain networks are public by design. If you submit transactions or interact with smart contracts, information may be visible publicly and persist indefinitely.
We generally cannot control:
on-chain visibility and immutability
third-party blockchain explorers and indexing services
how wallet providers process your data
If you want stronger privacy, consider using a fresh wallet address and privacy-preserving practices before interacting on-chain.
9. Sharing and disclosure of information
We may disclose information:
A. Service providers and processors
To vendors that help us operate the Platform (e.g., hosting, analytics, customer support, security, blockchain RPC/indexing). These providers are required to handle information under contractual protections appropriate to their role.
B. Legal, safety, and compliance
To regulators, law enforcement, courts, or others where we believe disclosure is required or appropriate to:
comply with law or legal process;
protect rights, safety, and security; or
prevent fraud/abuse.
C. Business transfers
If we undergo a corporate transaction (e.g., merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale), information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
10. Overseas disclosures and cross-border transfers
Because we may use global service providers, your information may be stored or processed outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions where our providers operate. Under the Australian Privacy Principles, our policy must describe likely overseas disclosures where practicable.
Where GDPR applies and personal data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required (for example, contractual protections).
11. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to:
operate and secure the Platform;
comply with legal obligations; and
resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
Because on-chain data is public and may be retained indefinitely by blockchain networks and third parties, Farlands may not be able to delete or modify that on-chain information.
12. Cookies & analytics
We may use cookies or similar technologies to:
enable core Platform functionality;
remember preferences; and
measure and understand usage to improve the Platform.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and (where available) our consent and pop-up controls.
13. Data security and breaches
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information; however, no system is completely secure.
If a data breach occurs, we assess and respond consistently with applicable laws, including Australia’s Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme, where a breach is likely to result in serious harm.
14. Your rights and choices
Your rights depend on where you live and how we process your information.
A. Australia (Privacy Act / APPs)
You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. In most cases, OAIC guidance indicates a reasonable response time is within 30 calendar days.
You can also make a privacy complaint to us (see section 15). APP guidance also expects the policy to explain complaint handling and overseas disclosures.
B. EU/UK (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, you may have rights to:
access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection;
withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent); and
lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
We generally respond to rights requests within one month, subject to permitted extensions in certain cases.
If your request relates to on-chain data, we may be unable to delete or alter public blockchain records (see section 8). We can often help by deleting off-chain data we control and/or disconnecting identifiers where feasible.
C. California (CPRA)
If you are a California resident and the CCPA applies to our processing, you may have rights to:
know/access the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected;
delete personal information (with exceptions);
correct inaccurate personal information;
opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (including via the Global Privacy Control (GPC) where applicable); and
non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
Farlands does not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If this changes, we will provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and update our disclosures accordingly.
Requests under CPRA can be sent to team@farlands.world
15. Complaints
Contact: team@farlands.world

EU/UK: you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

16. Children
The Platform is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at team@farlands.world.
17. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will revise the “Last reviewed” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the Platform. Continued use may constitute acceptance of the updated policy.
18. CPRA Notice at Collection
At or before the point of collection, we provide notice of:
the categories of personal information collected,
the purposes for which it is used, and
whether it is sold or shared.
Categories (summary): identifiers (including wallet address), internet/network activity (e.g., logs), and communications you submit.
Purposes: operate the Platform, security/fraud prevention, analytics/performance, support, and legal compliance (see section 6).
In the preceding twelve months, we have not sold (as a term defined by the CCPA/CPRA) any personal information that we have collected.
